Generally, no support for private foundations, or for lobbying, individual Department of Education schools, or for organizations engaged in fundraising for the purpose of distributing grants to recipients of their own choosing, or to the University of Hawai`i other than an annual grant to the University of Hawai`i Foundation.
No grants to individuals (except for scholarships), generally no giving for endowment funds, or for annual operating support or funds for re-granting; no conferences, festivals or one-time events; no loans.

Summary

The Foundation makes grants for programs and projects that benefit the people of Hawaii. Giving primarily for arts, culture, and humanities; community development; education; environment; health; human services; spiritual development; and youth development. Scholarships for the postgraduate education of Protestant ministers, Protestant ministers’ children for undergraduate study, and for graduate theological education at a Protestant seminary. Foundation staff and grants administration is provided by the Hawaii Community Foundation.
