Health
ProStart®: A two-year, industry-backed culinary arts and restaurant management program for high school students, ProStart® reaches more than 214,000 students across over 2,100 schools nationwide. The curriculum integrates practical skills and provides real-world experience, preparing students for immediate entry into the workforce.
Restaurant & Hospitality Leadership Center (RHLC): RHLC provides employers with accredited training programs for roles such as Line Cook, Kitchen Manager, and Restaurant Manager. These programs offer tools and resources to guide employees toward fulfilling restaurant careers, culminating in nationally recognized professional certificates upon completion.
Restaurant Ready: This national program is dedicated to helping individuals acquire the basic job and life skills necessary to pursue employment in the restaurant and hospitality industry, thereby initiating a pathway to independence. Restaurant Ready collaborates with community-based organizations to provide training in six work-ready competency areas defined by the industry.
HOPES (Hospitality Opportunities For People (Re)Entering Society): HOPES connects adults with current or previous justice involvement to career opportunities in the restaurant, foodservice, and hospitality sectors. The program partners with Departments of Corrections, community-based organizations, and State Restaurant Associations to provide work-readiness and industry-specific training, facilitating participants’ transition into the workforce.
Scholarships & Grants: Each year, the NRAEF awards more than $1 million in scholarships to individuals pursuing post-secondary degrees in restaurant, foodservice, and hospitality-related programs. Since 1987, over $27 million has been awarded to more than 6,000 students and educators. The Foundation also offers grants for educators and individuals seeking industry certifications to advance their careers.
History shows that 52% of their giving goes to Support Education, 32% goes to Community Development and almost 10% goes to Social & Human Services category.

$118,587 for Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation;
$140,165 for Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association;
$113,594 for Safer Foundation;
$171,964 for Food Bank of Delaware;
$146,513 for Peckham Vocational Industries; and
$145,855 for San Antonio Food Bank.
