Grants will be made primarily to established charitable organizations whose activities are personally known to the directors and based in or benefiting the greater Washington, DC, metropolitan area. Grants will be made to the following: organizations that advance international understanding, museums, and libraries for the advancement and diffusion of knowledge; organizations and schools that sponsor programs that advocate and encourage family planning, (or promote or provide health care); organizations providing services and/or education designed to preserve natural and historical resources, or advance the knowledge of mankind’s history and cultural past; and organizations that promote volunteer participation in, and citizen involvement with such organizations.
