Summary

Entrusted with the responsibility to improve quality of life, the foundation has a four-part mission: 1) to serve as a leader, catalyst, and resource for philanthropy; 2) to build and permanently hold a growing endowment for the community’s changing needs and opportunities; 3) to strive for excellence through strategic grant-making in such fields as the arts, education, housing, social services, civic beautification, community development, and recreation; and 4) to provide a flexible and cost-effective way for donors to improve their community now and in the future.

Additional

Incorporated in 1951 in OH – The Board of Trustees governs the Hamilton Community Foundation. They establish policy, set priorities and make final decisions to authorize grants. All members are volunteers who serve without pay for three-year terms. Members of the corporation are people who have expressed an interest in the foundation and its work, and who live in the Hamilton vicinity. The foundation is the sum of many gifts, both large and small, and from many different sources. They include trust funds, memorials, bequests and wills, and cash gifts from private citizens, companies and associations. The foundation is a philanthropic pool. The various funds that are given to the foundation are placed with others so that even modest charitable contributions receive the same professional administration as multi-million dollar funds
